Chilled to the bone
This collection is born from the life on my island. From the cold season to the cold seasons, water takes on all kinds of forms, each more artistic than the other. It only takes ray of sunshine and everything lights up, crystallizes, like ephemeral diamonds… the true wealth. Marlene Creates in her beautiful book “Brickle, Nish, and Knobby.” A Newfoundland Treasury of Terms for Ice and Snow” discovered more than 80 terms to identify ice and snow in Newfoundland.
Cette collection est née de la vie sur mon île. De saisons fraîches en saisons froides, l’eau qui tombe des nuages se congèle et prend la forme de cristaux, plus artistiques les uns que les autres. Un furtif rayon de soleil et tout s’illumine comme des diamants éphémères posés sur un rocher. Dans le magnifique livre de Marlene Creates « Brickle, Nish and Knobby, a Newfoundland Treasury of Terms for Ice and Snow », celle-ci a recensé chez les Terre-Neuviens plus de quatre-vingt expressions pour désigner la neige, le grésil ou la glace.
